PEGA D&E, an advanced design consultancy, announced four products have been awarded for 2011 iF Product Design Award. 2,756 products submitted from 43 dierent countries competed for a coveted iF product design award. PEGA D&E was able to successfully assert itself in a highly competitive, international environment.
Slim, lightweight and featuring a large, responsive multi-touch screen with intuitive user interface, Lucid is designed to provide convenient and easy access to cloud services. The Lucid concept began with careful observation and analysis of consumers and the market. We looked beyond existing solutions, studied the habits and needs of consumers, and imagined a device that was simple and intuitive in form, yet powerful and diverse in function. Lucid, one of the most competitive tablets comes with 11.6'' at screen, 13mm thin, and weighs only 850g.
Joyoung is a leading soy milk maker in China; the ongoing enthusiasm for healthy lifestyles has led to a strong increase in the demand for their products. After a month of market research it was clear that one of the key points for user satisfaction was how heavy or light the product was perceived to be, as during the soy milk making process, people need to hold the product repeatedly; obviously the desired perception is one of lightness and comfort. Besides purely mechanical considerations it was clear to PEGA D&E's team that visual design and choice of materials was sure to aect the psychological perception of weight. This is when PEGA D&E decides to replace original design with a simple striped pattern and the streamlined design.
Italia is a frame-based laptop which breaks boundary of designing a laptop. The designer intentionally leaves the metal frame outside, which is usually hidden and covered with plastic, to provide both functionality and styling. By doing this, the structure is stronger and the whole product looks slimmer. To connect the monitor and the system, we use rubber pad to cover the wires, and meanwhile which allows clients to etch sophisticate symbols on top.
