PEGA D&E stages at Milan Furniture Fair 2013

The Milan International Furniture Fair, one of the most significant design festivals, is coming up on Tuesday, 9th of April, in Milan. The Taiwan based design company, PEGA D&E, embraces the great event by introducing a collection of playful interactive works.

“When technology plays a main rule in our lives, does it also cause any influences to the daily objects around us?”

The project PEGA D&E presents is Now and New, discussing how technology has changed our lives. They apply the new behaviors that people developed when using smart devices onto daily objects. By combining the already-existing objects and the “smart” behaviors, the project invites visitor to a unique, fun and interactive experience.

Good Night

Nowadays, carrying a smartphone all the time is nothing unusual. It becomes the first thing we do when we wake up in the morning and the last thing we call it a day. Good Night transforms the familiar using scenario into a thoughtful bedside table. Working with a smartphone, Good Night controls the light source we need at night easily and gently

Happy Together

A wooden table that offers a playground for people to play and have fun together. Happy Together invites people not to focus on their cell phones for a while, but having some face to face interactions with people around them. To play, you need to put down the smartphone and interact with others so that you can create interesting sounds and music. More people to play, richer music comes out.

Tap Dance

With the popularity of smartphones, touch has become a major action to trigger things in our life. What if this action could also apply to our daily objects, for example, a lamp?

Friendship Machine

How we used to make friends is to do something together. But now we can just meet new people through internet. Friendship Machine is a vending machine that you can make a new friend efficiently by providing your personal information.

WindUp

With WindUp, you can always have your smartphones charged, as long as you don’t mind to do some clockwork. Use the image of clockwork to ask people to contribute physical efforts for their smart devices’ power.

Color Up

Color Up is a lamp that can mimic the color of any physical object or surface. Users can grab the light bulb sampler to capture hues from real objects; whenever the light bulb is put back in the lampshade unit, the sampled color spreads to the whole lamp.
